A Message for Freshman Parents
I would like to extend a ‘personal’ welcome to our Freshman parents! I hope you and your child are settling into the routine of high school. I understand it’s a new scene, a lot is going on, and you may feel overwhelmed. To facilitate communication, the PTSA is looking for a “Parent Rep” to serve as liaison between Freshman parents and the high school. If you are interested, please email me.
The PTSA website is www.mshsptsa.org - please take a look at it to learn more about what we do to support the Mount Si High School community. Note that in high school, we don't ask students to fundraise through walk-a-thons or Scholastic book fairs. We rely on families like YOU as our primary source of funding for our school-wide programs. Currently, we've fundraised $4,000 toward the 2017-2018 school year. That's all we have, folks. We need your help! Please consider donating to make, at the minimum, these three programs happen:
Please join us OCTOBER 24 at 7pm in the MSHS auditorium to hear Dr. Laura Kastner (UW Researcher and author of Wise-Minded Parenting) talk to parents about student stress. This is a free event.
To be alerted of news and opportunities to help, please follow us on Facebook (Mount Si High School PTSA), Remind (text @mtsihsptsa to 81010 to receive messages) and check www.mshsptsa.org for regular updates.
Likewise, be sure to sign up for direct communications from MSHS to ensure you receive timely school news and information.
Thank you for your support!

- Intervention Support - PTSA funds additional counseling for students at school. Areas of concern include mental health and substance abuse.
- Classroom Grants - Financial assistance to teachers for classroom projects and materials. (*NOTE: This program is not available Fall 2017 due to lack of funds.)
- Student Welfare - Food, clothing, toiletries, and assistance to students in need, via school staff.
